Project Overview

 

Each campus data network infrastructure was assessed for the necessary upgrades and modifications required to support users at each location. The assessment included upgrades to wired, wireless, voice, and video networks.

At Cypress Campus, Fullerton Campus, Anaheim Campus, and the District, the design of a new network system addressed logical infrastructure needs for the next 10 years, while the physical infrastructure was built to support long-term needs over the next 20 years.

The scope of work at each site included replacing network core switches, establishing a more responsive support structure, preparing the system for cloud computing, and implementing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solutions.

Under the Network Refresh, multiple building specific scopes of work took place including the following:

At Cypress Campus, data network infrastructure, network core switches have been replaced to make way for cloud computing and the use of Voice over IP (VoIP) systems at the New Science, Engineering, and Mathematics; and the New VRC/SAC Buildings.

At Fullerton Campus, to align with network refresh standards and equipment standards, updates were made at the New Instructional Building in time for the opening of the completed structure.
